Word Cloud FAQ
How do I make a word cloud?
Go to Slideasy and sign in. Create a presentation, then add a word cloud slide. Type your question in the field at the top.
Open questions produce good clouds. Closed questions produce a screen with two words on it. Ask for one word rather than a phrase. If you ask people to describe something, you get sentences, and sentences don't cluster into anything readable. Say it in the question itself. "In one word, how would you describe our onboarding?"
Save the slide. You can build it before the session or open a tab and write one mid-conversation when a topic comes up that the room clearly has opinions about.
Present it when you want the answers. Your audience joins with a code in their phone browser. Nothing to install. Words appear as people submit. Repeats grow larger, and the shape of the audience's thinking shows up within about thirty seconds.
Leave it on screen longer than feels comfortable. People read what others wrote and add their own once they see it's anonymous.
